editing the page

Copy-paste

In AEM, you can copy-paste components. You can do this one one page, but even across pages : from one page to another.

Simply open two tabs with the pages that you want to edit
copy the component or column-control by either clicking the button, of pressing ctrl-C.
Open the other tab, make sure you select the correct element to paste in, and press the paste button or ctrl-V.

This can be handy build a page quickly without having to do it manually. If the page is 100% identical, you can always use the copy-flow in the AEM-treeview to copy the page.

Paywall

in the page options, you can select the page to be paywalled so it will not be visible for non-logged in visitors

When creating special pages with a lot of embed components, you can remove the margin at the top and bottom of the page, so you can take control of the whole area between the topnavigation and the pagefooter.

Jumplinks on the page (anchorlinks)

Every title has an id, so it's fairly easy to create jumplinks on a page

You can either guess the ID, or look it up in the code. The ID will have the same text as the title itself, but all spaces are replaced by dashes ( - ) and special chars like quotes will be removed.
Attention: when using jumplinks, do not use the same title twice, because the browser can not differentiate between the two of them.

errors in AEM

There are 3 types of notifications in AEM: blue, orange, and red.

Blue notfications : diplay an informative message. They explain something that's a bit unusual.
Orange notifications display a warning: The page will still work but there can be side effects.
Red notifications are errors. If you publish the page, the part with a red error will not be displayed on the page, or in the worst case: can break the layout of the page.
